Depending on what kind of Android mobile phone you own, your built-in mail application might not be the greatest. Some examples are: Gmail, Yahoo Mail (for MSN mail accounts only), AIM, and Skype. Some of the more popular Android mail apps today, however, are:
If you don't already have an existing Outlook application installed, it's definitely time for one. The built-in Microsoft outlook is probably going to be your most used app, as it allows you to read and reply to emails, view contacts, and even manipulate and search through attachments. With that being said, it's still kind of boring. If you want to spice things up a little bit, you should consider downloading a (free) open source fork of the Outlook software, called Outlook Express.
If you're looking for some more flexibility, you might want to download and install some open source (GPL) software to help you control your android emails. The most common software used for this purpose is OBS, or Office Social Network. Although there are some pretty awesome free email clients available, they can be limited in functionality and really lack the ability to perform complex tasks like viewing attachments or sorting and searching folders and email addresses. That being said, it's still worth it to download some open source software, because it can perform some advanced tasks that the free Outlook software doesn't offer.
